There are probably more individual sharks in the ocean belonging to the Squalidae or Dogfish family than any other kind. These 1 to 3 ft bottom dwellers are commercially fished around the world. The Piked Spurdog (Squalus megalops) shown here is found in the southern waters of Europe and Asia.
